Advice From Ray Dalio
Advice From Ray Dalio: When Ray speaks, it is wise to pay attention. He manages billions of dollars worth of money for the wealthiest people in the world. It is reported that he even manages some of our governmental investments. One thing is clear: his results. He seems to always be right.
Most of you have never heard of Ray. This is because he tends not to promote himself. Ray also only takes investors with hundreds of millions of dollars. That leaves me out!
However, his wisdom pertains to all of us, so I will start a series of his wisdom here on Greatpast60.com just for you. Watch this series in the Finance section of our web site as we post more of his teachings and predictions.
This first video is a long one, but I found the advice so valuable that I had to post it. Ray tells us how to overcome obstacles within ourselves to achieve great things. It is a three-hour lesson, but worth every minute.
5 Elements for Success
In this video, Ray gives us the five elements for the success he sees in every leader. He talks about how to face problems and overcome them.
1: Know Your Goals
He starts with his first element being to know your goals. We need to have unshakeable goals for what we wish to accomplish. This gives us the resolve to push through whatever problems we will encounter along the way.
2: Encounter Problems
We will encounter problems. Problems are what give us the opportunity to grow and move ahead. Without them, long term growth is not possible. We need to embrace the problems and not think they are a bad thing, but to realize that they are opportunities.
3: Diagnose the Problems
Next, comes diagnosing the problem. We need to get out of the way of our own egos, recognize our shortcomings and learn how to solve the issue. If we don’t do this, we will hit the same barrier over and over again in our life until we learn to fix it.
4: Design a Solution
This is the growth stage. It is where we learn how to turn an issue into an advantage. It may be that we find somebody to help us compensate for a personality trait, or create habits within our selves to overcome it.
5: Follow Through
Finally, none of the other steps matter if we do not do what we say we are going to do. We need to follow through with our plan.
